Nail competitions

I am big fan of nail competitions. I believe that it is the best way to push you out of your comfort zone and force you to master your nail sculpting in a short period of time.

If you think that you need to upgrade skills listed below you should definitely give it a try.

- Reduce time of your service

- Learn to create perfect smile lines and nail shape

- Become a next level nail technician

As a professional bodybuilder I love challenge and competing .I love the way winning builds you up inside .I would love to be good enough to do this and I was just talking about these competitions and you not too many days ago .I saved you white nail art win photo and I hope to re create it near as good as you before too long .I am working in my degree but I am the only one using NSI .I will be back after all the basics to learn from you how to yes work faster !! ..And also be the best I can be .Thank you for sharing and continuing to email me your latest news .You looked stunningly beautiful with your hair up and holding that trophy .Congrats on the success of yourself and your students .Looking forward to being one myself soon after I push my way through the basics of my present course .

Wow, Marnie, I'm sure there is no such word as 'impossible' for professional bodybuilder. I used to go the gym where there were few competing bodybuilders and I always admired those people - as I can hardly imagine how to deal with all that workouts and diet all the time.

Yes, you should definitely try competing when you're done with your current course.

I did my first ever just a few weeks ago. Had no idea what I was signed up for. It went about as bad as it could, but I learned a lot and not totally scared off from trying again. But my confidence took a major blow. I wasn't prepared for the way I got treated after the contests from fellow techs. I felt like shouting "Don't judge my work on the contest nails alone, look at what I've done in my short 5 years as a tech".

Thanks for sharing Cynthia! I understand you - that was almost what I felt on my first 2 competitions about judges don't look at what I've done now, I can do much better! But unfortunately, that;s the truth of competition - nobody cares how hard you tried, how you are, etc.. All that matters is how you did it now. That's why it's a very specific kind of work which you need to practice. As it is so much different with what we do everyday with our clients.
Anyways, I'm really glad you fell like giving it another try. I;m sure you will do much better. As now you have some experience and understanding how to get prepared for the next time.

Hi Anastasia I did my very first competition whilst I was training for my Level 3 NSI in Nails. I was literally thrown in at the deep end, never having done one before also not given a lot of time to come up with my design or the theme which was super heroes. I think now I just threw it all together to try and see if it would work as we had to use a lot of mediums. And I certainly used them all. We had 3 hours to do the competition which I finished right at the last second. I cut it fine, was nearly disqualified because of my timing. Also never got chance to be given feedback on my work, which I wasn't happy about! was no time. :unamused: However, to my surprise I couldn't believe how much of a buzz I got from doing this and felt thirst for more at that particular time (even though my back was killing me) it was exciting even though I was new to it at my age too.  I was also shocked when I came 2nd in this nail art competition for the college I was attending I felt I'd done them proud for coming 2nd place in Yorkshire & Humber for the Matchfit skills competition - which was brill as it's was a step up to the next competitions if I wanted to attend.  Which I probably would have done, but shortly after that I became ill which put a damper on me building my clients up, my skills etc.  I'm still ill 2 1/2 years down the line having been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well as C&L Spinal Osteoarthritis which I already had.  I'm doing home training though as I don't want to stop doing nails no matter how much pain I am in.  I  decided to recently start Sam Biddle's on line annual course, but I'm already trying to do 3 other courses with Essential Nails - these were gifts otherwise as I didn't want anything else when it come to birthday's and Christmas so it saved me but also will help me even though I can not do them fast and everyday due to pain.  I do want to think I can do another competition, but next time I want to be prepared and maybe get help to attend with me been like I am.  I can dream. xx  I'm still wanting the aluminium forms but having trouble getting a price to send to the UK even though they are cheap to buy, not sure if you can help? x ;-)

Hi, I have taken part in a nail competition already. The Nail Pro online competition the year before. I did not place though, but it helped me in the way I apply my products.
